Welcome to Allysen's Blog!

So....this is a new foray for me!  I am not entirely sure what to do in this virtual forum.  But, my dear hubby insists that I have much to say on every subject, so surely writing on a blog will not be much of a stretch!

I guess an intro is in order.  I am D.  I am married to the craziest, handsomest (is that even a word?), giant of a man.  We call him Big Daddy at our house, because he is so tall we all crane our necks to speak to him.  He would be intimidating if it wasn't for the fact that he is just a boy in giant's clothing.  He can often be found making all sorts of contraptions with my little guys (we have three adorable little guys, well one is now medium size but I digress) and coming up with semi-dangerous but often fun ways to pass the time.  He is the go-to guy for fun.  I am the go-to lady for band-aids, hugs, kisses, refreshment, and mediating.  And, there is much, much mediating around here.  Five year old twin brothers require a full time mediator on staff.

We have been married a long, long, long time. ;)  Just kidding.  Really we have been married about 9 years.  We are still sort of goofy about each other and thank the Lord for that!  Speaking of our Heavenly Father....we love us some Jesus around here (as Big Daddy would say).

So, here we are just trying to live to please God, and minding our own business, when BAM!  Out of the nowhere God comes up with a new plan for our family.  I am actually sure it wasn't really out of nowhere seeing as how He is Omnipresent, Omniscient, Planning-Making God.  But, it was definitely out of nowhere for us.

He broke our hearts.  He broke them big.  And, that is where Allysen comes in.  Do you see that little cutie's picture right over there somewhere on this blog'o'mine?  Couldn't you look at that little face all day?    I sure could.  And, I have wasted much time looking and oohing and ahhing over her these last few days since we committed to her adoption.

But....that is a story for tomorrow.  You see, the twin boys have hit the sack.  The Big Daddy and Medium Sized Brother are at a church camp out for guys of all sizes.  My sheets are clean.  And, I have a book calling.  So, good night big, wide, virtual world.  We will continue this little ramble tomorrow.
